Ultresa Uses

Is It Safe for Children to Use Ultresa?

Ultresa is approved for use in children age 12 months and older; some other pancrelipase products are approved for use in infants, but Ultresa is not. Ultresa comes only in capsule form, so a little creativity and patience is necessary in order to give this medication to young children (see Ultresa Dosage for more information).

Off-Label Uses for Ultresa

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this medicine for something other than the use discussed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. Using Ultresa for infants would be considered an off-label use. Otherwise, there are no universally accepted off-label uses for Ultresa at this time.
