Pancreaze Drug Information

Some people who have cystic fibrosis or certain other medical conditions may develop a deficiency in pancreatic enzymes that requires treatment with Pancreaze® (pancrelipase). This prescription medication contains a mixture of different enzymes taken from the pancreatic glands of pigs. Specifically, it contains lipases, proteases, and amylases.

Although this drug can be an effective treatment for many people, it's important to review Pancreaze's safety information before starting treatment to help minimize the risk of complications. This medicine is not suitable for everyone, so tell your healthcare provider if you have gout, kidney problems, or a history of intestinal blockage.

Pancreaze comes as a delayed-release capsule that is taken with each meal. The medication is approved for use in adults, children, and infants.
